Good Morning

While even I am not a huge proponent of drinking in the morning, there is a very special set of circumstances under which I find it not just acceptable, but necessary: After waking up before the crack of dawn and running an ungodly number of miles, one must be rewarded with a huge, carb-y breakfast. And, of course, one's alcoholic weapon of choice. And I have just discovered my new favorite, the Hash House A Go-Go's tangerine mimosa. It is delicious, and right now I'm feeling dreamy just thinking about it. The slightly tart, tangy flavor of the tangerine juice is perfect in combination with the champagne. The whole concoction ends up lighter, brighter and more delightful than your standard OJ mimosa. After two tangerine mimosas each, my friend (let's call her Katie) and I were tempted to ask the HH waitress to bring us a pitcher, and I usually hit my tolerance for fruity drinks after the first sip. Upon ordering our mimosas, the waitress rattled off a list of mixers, including cran and apple, and even though I haven't tried any of them (yet), I'm going to say definitively, no. If you're going to drink a mimosa, the tangerine mimosa is the only way to go.
